9. 1873 Mr Gundry, Allot 11 

Mr Gundry’s land was subdivided eight years later in1873. He had established in Auckaland a Chemist shop in1846 but after his untimely death in 1855 his family was required to sell their substantial house and gardens. His business continued to trade using his name for many years and his Newton block of land did not lie fallow. A Mr J Morris had obtained a lease to run in the late 1850’s to run a watermill brickyard until the land was subdivided and readied for sale.
