What are the most common mistakes you see?
Unsurprisingly, delaying dental treatment. Small problems are much easier to fix than larger ones. If your dentist recommends a treatment, try to get it done sooner rather than later, to prevent further damage to your pearly whites and pocket.
Tips for staying calm while in the chair?
Thinking about going to the dentist can be a bit daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Make sure to talk to us about your concerns. We are here to help; it’s important that we know about past experiences or fears about treatment, so we can make your visit a comfortable one. Also, we can screen your favourite Netflix show to help you relax while you are in the chair!
What's the worst thing for your teeth?
Frequent sugar and carbonated drinks can be really damaging to your teeth. These are some of the most common causes of dental decay.
What is the correct way to brush your teeth?
We get asked this a lot. Correct brushing technique is very important to help prevent plaque developing and any decay from occurring. You need to brush not only the white part of your teeth, but also closer to the gums, as this is where most of the plaque develops. Google “Modified Bass Technique'' for a how-to video that shows the correct toothbrush angle and technique. It’s down to time as well. Spend a good 2-4 minutes brushing and flossing twice a day.
How do I avoid big dentist bills?
Most dental problems start small and slowly progress over time, so prevention is key. Good dental hygiene (brushing and flossing), rinsing your mouth with water after every meal and drink, and regular check-ups with your dentist and hygienist will help prevent those big dental bills that everyone is worried about.
